I Heart Trolls

I love internet trolls. If mine actually had anything intelligent to say I wouldn't mind, but I am tired of dealing with childish insults. Anyone know how to block an IP address? This is my internet trolls IP.
adsl-072-156-229-002.sip.mco.bellsouth.net
Anon1 (as he likes to refer to himself as) hails from Atlanta, GA and apparently "liked" what I had to say so much that he followed me here from White Dade's blog.
I know now that I am truly, truly loved.

I got a different IP address for him, but traced it back to Atlanta as well. I don't know what makes people want to be mean like that. Apparently inner issues that are unresolved, so they take it out on us. Oh, well. It can be really entertaining. The troll you're talking about isn't really creative or witty in his insults, so after you hear about 10 of them, it's just same-ole-same-ole.

Also use this website to find out about IP's:

dnsstuff.com

Put the IP in the middle column of boxes, third box down.

Playtah ~ One from work and one from home maybe?
I know that at one time I lowered myself to his level and we got into a comment war on White Dade's blog, but what really got him was when I make a joke back for every comment.
Yeah, the 10 comments are really old.

Velvet~ No match was found at dnsstuff.com. Rats!!

But the "Joe Geurin" name is the technician, I think...not the user.

all i know about dns blocking is that it's more trouble than i want to deal with (well, i know more than that... =;-)

i usually ignore trolls. and what really ticks them off is when i tell them i'm going to ignore them and then follow thru and really do that.

have fun bashing this guy back into the stone age... where he came from.

Rachel said...

Yes. but now we have his address. What should we do with that?

Anonymous said...

I don't think it's his address...it's his provider's address.

Rachel,

You are barking up the wrong tree. Not only is that not my IP address but I am not located in Atlanta.

Take a hint from White Dade and keep people's information private. At least he had the guts to face someone in private and not take the cowardly way out.

I can tell you that by posting anyone's personal information on your blog you are opening yourself up to numerous lawsuits. Don't believe me? Ask a lwayer. Your intent when you post the information is to cause harm.

By the way, keep posting this information. Someone who is not me is going to have a field day with it.

And talk about coming down to someone's level??? Pot meet kettle.

ANON1

And by the way Rachel I just forwarded your information to a friend in the FBI and a friend in local government.

Have a great day.

ANON1

Anon1 ~ Go ahead. Have fun. I haven't posted anything that isn't readily available through legal channels.
If I can find it, anyone else can too and for some reason I doubt that I will be arrested for posting an IP address.

Anonymous said...

Anon--this is information that anyone could get off the internet.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and Rach, I emailed the provider and asked what we could do about someone posting threatening comments from that ip address.

Anonymous said...

No threatening comments were ever made towards anyone.

Stating the obvious like someone is fat or ugly is not threatening.

But go have a field day with it. You posted someone's personal information with malicious intent.

If you would like to play games, let's play.

I enjoy Monopoly. I always try to get the light blue and orange properties first.

I enjoy Trivial Pursuit and Taboo. My favorite game to play with the uninitiated is Mau. That one is lots of fun.
I didn't post anything with malicious intent. How can asking how to block an IP address be construed as malicious? Um yeah! It' cant. I didn't post anything else.
Anon1~ This is the last comment that I will be directing towards you. Post anything else that you like. I will be deleting them all with no response.

i have had many trolls throughout the years and I find the best way to get rid of them is to ignore them completly.

What has he said to you?

Anonymous said...

This is what he wants, you know. To cause an uproar. A stir. To settle the conflicts which probably rage inside him. Maybe he wasn't given enough hugs as a child, or maybe he's having a really tough time coping with his own homosexuality, but, either way, your "troll" as you so graciously called him is actually feeling rewarded by your desire to silence him. He's acting like he knows the laws of the world, and just by spending a slight time reading on the internet, he feels like he can win, or, seem threatening. He's not a threat.

If you're really hell bent on beating someone who is as immature as "ANON1" there is really only one way to do it, and that's to make sure you never raise a child with such an absence of love and care, that it turns out to be as cold and cowardice as your new "friend."

My vote is to ignore him. The same way his family and peers ignore him.

I have my blog comments set so that I do not accept anonymous comments. May be the sissy way out, but I'm sticking with it.
