My Own Mastercard Commercial

Gas To Friends House To Play Poker: $7.00
Buy In For Three Games Of Poker: $30
Winning Two Out Of Three Games When You Are Hands Down The Worst Player At The Table: Priceless

This was my first time playing poker for money so it was a different experience. Because I am so green and half the time didn’t know really 100% what I was doing and because I had no strategy I don’t think that the other players could read me very well.
Funny Girl won the first game and I won the second and third game so Gyno-Americans (as my co-worker Dennis refers to women) swept the table.
I came in with $10 and left with $120.
Poor LW (my friend Anne’s husband) hasn’t won any poker games that he has hosted at their home.
Maybe next time LW :)~

Go gyno-americans......at you won something. I usually leave with my dignity partially intact. I will not lose the drawers. Other than that I am usually cleaned out.

I might like poker if I ever won anything. As it is, it's probably easier just to throw my money right into the trash myself.

Dennis...I hope to God that you leave with more than your drawers. That is a visual I didn't need this morning.

Churlita ~ I was expecting to toss in my $$ and then never see it again. I know that there were much better players at the table. I seriously don't know how it happened.
I can tell you that I won the last hand with a straight.

Good going Rachel, plus you had fun. When I do play poker its with my family and or friends at home. I wish I had the nerve to play poker at a nice casino, but imagine I would look at my cards and my eyes would say "wahoooo" if I got a good hand. A sure Tell, my facial expressions. Losing drawers now there's a kinky game of strip poker coming to mind...hmmmmmmm.

As a very experienced poker player I can tell you the expereinced players at your game were probably pretty angry that someone who doesn't know the game very well kept winning. Which should definitely add to the your enjoyment of winning. And if you're anything like me winning will only make you want to play more, leading to a potential gambling addiction.

Wow, that's awesome!
I have a very good poker face, because when I look at my group of cards, I have no idea what I'm lookin at, so the blank face is for real. Hehe.

moonbeam ~ I am sure that when I get the hang of it I will be as transparent as a window pane. Until then I can sweep the competition...hehe

Eric ~ Winning was VERY sweet. I almost won the first game as well. It was head to head me and Funny Girl on the first and second games and LW, Funny Girl and I on the third one.
Winning was VERY, VERY sweet...
I think that the gambling addiction won't happen. I can't afford more than $10 at a time.

Tara ~ LOL... LW has mocked me for a while because the last time that we played I went all in with a straight. Unfortunately I was missing the very important 7 didn't really have a straight at all. I had nothing. This was sweet redemption.

Yay! You played well, grasshopper. We swept the table clean, and it feels oh-so-good! :)
I really love Texas hold 'em....that and a table full of friends, doritos, etc. makes for a good night!!!

I love it when dogs play human games. It's like when dogs make movies or stare in cartoons, it brings a smile to my face.

Playtah/funnygirl/winner of game#1~ Thanks...It was a fantastic ride home together wasn't it/ Well, besides the fact that it was 1:30 in the morning.
I honestly think that the reason that I won was because I was the only one not drinking.

Egan ~ I decided that nothing would compare to the Dogs Playing Poker photo for this entry.

Furtive ~ It was really exciting to win. I was so shocked that I won that I seriously think that I squealed.

I haven't yet learned to play any card games besides Go Fish and a couple sorts of solitaire. There is no money in those...
How cool that you came away with some $$$. Always nice!

I again like the illustration. We actually have a version of this as a rug on the bedroom floor.
