Born on May 9, 1955 you were destined for greatness from the moment you were conceived. At the age of 5 you made your TV debut on WCR-TV’s Sam & Friends.
After this inauspicious moment you had you big break in 1969 as a frequent guest star on Sesame Street often as a news reporter. During one guest appearance you debuted your first musical hit.
You eventually got your own hit show playing a long suffering stage manager of a fictitious theater show struggling to produce a quality program for a sparse and disaffected audience. You were always my favorite character on the show.
You are the object of affection for women who aren’t even in the same genome class but you handle it with grace and humor.
You are the king of guest appearances that include American Idol, Hollywood Squares, Who Wants To Be A Millionaire & Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show
You have guest hosted as Co-Anchor of ABC News, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Larry King Live, Extreme Home Makeover and many more.
In 2005 you received the honor of having your own series of US Postal Stamps.
A few other notable facts about you:
Referred as his “adopted son” by Charlie Gibson formerly of Good Morning America.
Awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Amphibious Letters by Southampton College.
Has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Nominated for an academy award for your song “The Rainbow Connection”.
Current spokesfrog for Ford, Pizza Hut, UPS.

Hey! I'm wearing green today. You can call me Kermie
=;-)
Ooo, Kermit baby. Green is definitely his color. It brings out his frog eyes.
Love him!
You have to kiss a lot of frogs to get your prince.
Kermie ~ I am wearing green too. What would my nickname be?
Tara ~ Did you know that the original Kermie was made of an old coat that Jim Henson's mother threw away and ping pong balls for eyes?
Erica~ Me too!!!
Freckle ~ I have kissed a lot of frogs but am not scared that if I continue kissing frogs that I might get warts....lol
I didn't know that about Kermie! I learned earlier this year that Oscar the Grouch was originally orange rather than green!
Oh now he just gets me all hot and wet.
yum yum
:)
Yay, Kermit! If I wasn't so scared of Miss Piggy and her fiery temper, I would ask him out.
