A Small Victory

I smelled a McDonald's cheeseburger last night and I swear that they put some kind of pheremones in them to make them smell like you absolutely MUST have it.

I ran through there to get one for my son because he was really hungry but we weren't going home any time soon. I at least convinced him to get apple dippers insead of fries...one thing at a time, right?

Anyway...The bag came into my car and I was fine. Then he unwrapped the sucker and the aroma felt like an airbag slamming into my face. It was so strong and tantalizing that I literally started to salivate.

I had to roll down the window on a 90 degree muggy day to get the smell out of my car so that I didn't rip it out of his hand and either stuff it into my craw or toss it out the window. Realizing that it wasn't working, I remembered that satisfying your sense of smell is nearly as good and eating so I started taking deep breaths through my nose, filling my olfactory senses with the heavenly smell.

I didn't even ask for a bite. I did give it some covetous looks though.

Le Cheeseburger...Capture the Essence..By CoCo Chanel.

That is some impressive determination, I would've either eaten the burger right then and there or turned around to go through the drive thru again.

Your restraint is admirable. I don't have any myself, but I'm glad to hear that others do.

Wow, that's great! I wish I had such willpower these days. Hopefully it'll get easier from here on in every time temptation is in your path.

Oh my G-d...I know exactly how you felt. Good for you!

I think what helped you to resist that temptation was the fact that you have lost 7+ pounds and dont want to put a dent in the wonderful progess you have made so far. At least that's the way it is with me.

Anyhooo....Congrats and keep on truckin'.

Wow, yeah! Great job, I know that had it been me, I would've already counted on smelling it and wanting one -- therefore ordering 2 from the get-go. :)

You are good because I don't think....no, I know....I wouldn't have been able to withstand that kind of pressure!! I'm sorry but Jr. would have had to give up the burger and watch with tear filled eyes as I scarfed down that artery clogger! LOL

Giving up fast food trash and soda are two of the better things you can do. I have not eaten fast food in about 7 years, my insides love me.

If you have not, see "Supersize Me", it will turn you off to McDonald's forever. It bolstered my resolve.
