Rachel Still Hasn't Gotten Her Groove Back

When returning from vacation I find it incredibly difficult to return to my every day life. I so quickly get out of my groove of working every day, cleaning on a schedule and doing my best to stay organized that in the past 5 days since my return I have put off doing everything that remotely resembles work other than what is the minimum requirements.
I still haven't unpacked, gone through my bills or put up my Christmas tree. I am currently pulling clothing out of my suitcases every day to get ready for work. Luckily while in Washington my Nana (grandmother) would do everyone's laundry, including mine so I only had 1 small duffel bag of dirty laundry when I returned.
My house is a disaster and I can barely work up the energy to do a load of laundry (one so far of towels) and run the dishwasher.
I have Wednesday off so I am hoping that I will be able to at least get my luggage un-packed, everything put away, make a couple of calls that are important and get my Christmas tree up.
If anyone has any good ideas on getting back on track after vacation I would love to hear it.
Right now I need a vacation to recover from my vacation.

I hear ya, chica. Except what you describe when you are out of your groove is exactly what my groove is. Not doing housework, etc. :)

ahhh... you stole my line about needing a vacation to recover from a vacation... or did i steal that from you??? i don't know, i'm so confused. i slept most of the weekend. i need a vacation to recover from my weekends =:-) the only thing i can recommend is getting about 30 hours of sleep. that shouldn't be so hard to do, right? =;-)

That's the problem with vacations. They often leave you more tired when they are done than when you started.

Generally I try to make sure I have a least a full day or two to settle and relax after a vacation if possible. I can't imagine it would be easy to slide right back into the swing of things after the crazy way yours ended. Best of luck to you!

Just keep on the way you have been, easing back into things. All the "stuff" will be tended to eventually.

One usually needs a vacation after a vacation.

I know I do.

I agree with L.B. Things will get back to normal. If you do, however, feel a rush of energy on your day off and you do feel like cleaning, just put on some tunes while you're working. Sometimes that helps.

it's so true...it takes you like a week during your vacation just to get the fact that you are on vacation and it takes a week after your vacation for you to get used to not being on vacation anymore.
