For Christmas my dad sent me a hefty check to buy myself something nice. I have been wanting a digital camera for quite a while so I decided that instead of using my present from Dad to buy presents for others that I was going to buy a nice, little camera.
I bought a Fuji FinePix A500. It has 5.1 megapixels and a 3 or 4x zoom. It is a nice little point a shoot camera.
Today I finally uploaded the photos and I decided that I would post one to see what you think.
Also, if you use any kind of photo shop program that you recommend, I would LOVE to know. I was able to crop the photo using IrfanView but I don't know much else other than that.
Without further ado: My Christmas Tree

Spam sux!
Your tree is beautiful, Rachel. We will expect lots of photos now :-)
Grrrrr to Beta. Won't ever let me sign in with my google or blogger account. Peice of Crap!
Anyhoo, try Picass. It's easy, fun, connects to your blogger posts (it's owned by stupid google) and, best of all, it's free!
Maybe there is a lack of perspective or something but that looks like a huge Christmas tree. It's awesome.
Beautiful tree! Congratulations on spending the money on yourself for once. You deserve it!
Melanie ~ Don't really like spam but I voted anyway. Good luck to you.
Laura ~ Thanks. I have one of the real me to post if I get the nerve up.
Wanderlusting ~ I will try Picass (or is it Picasso?). The one that I downloaded was free but is not very user friendly.
Eric ~ It is a 6½ ft tree. It is pretty big. Very full at the bottom. It was a pre-lit tree but the lites died so I spent about 4 hours cutting and removing all of the wire and bulbs. That was a BITCH of a job.
Erica ~ Thanks. I am really happy with it so far.
Yeah for a new camera! The tree is gorgeous! :-) Expect to see lots of pictures now!
Ha. I went to the "Sweet Job" voting site and voted for a different guy. Spamming doesn't pay.
Nice tree, Rach!
It's between a digital camera and a Treo. That's what I've asked Santa for this year. Beautiful tree, BTW!
Great shot! I have a Kodak EasyShare C340 something or other, so the Kodak photo editing software came with it. I can enhance the colors and stuff. Not sure if you could use the same Kodak software, though, so I'm afraid I'm not much help in suggesting something. But it's a beautiful tree! :)
What exactly are you looking to do with the program and I am assuming you are looking for something free?
Reformat ~ Thanks. You will probably see more photos. I might actually post one of myself.
Playtah ~ You are so bad.
Sex & Moxie ~ I had to go look to see what a Treo is. Pretty fancy. Thanks for the compliment about the tree.
Tara ~ I still have to get the hold still thing down. I am used to disposable cameras and this one has about a ½ second pause before it snaps the photo. I have had a lot of blurry ones.
Elranito ~ Free would be fantastic but reasonably priced would be fine too. I need one that has easy to use features including cropping, adding borders and verbiage, one that does a good job of switching color photos to b/w ones etc. Nothing to fancy. The easier to use the better.
